Sixty Dollars

For sixty dollars, I can get my dog genetically tested against 63 known breeds. Is it ridiculous to consider? Every day of the past six years, I’ve looked at this dog and wondered where she came from, who bred her (surely an accident?), and how she ended up at the dog shelter. She was advertised as an exotic border collie – Saluki mix, but clearly is part setter of some kind. She is friendly and gentle but a good watch dog.
Comparatively speaking, sixty dollars could be a new pair of shoes, four pizzas with the works, a nice dinner out, two trips to the movies, or a charitable donation. Maybe it would be more responsible to donate the money to the SPCA or the humane society. But I really wonder about my dog, and the test is within reach. If it were more expensive, I wouldn’t consider it, but sixty dollars doesn’t seem unreasonable to satisfy my burning curiosity. What do you think?

Definitely test her DNA! I wannt to know what she is!
