Shaking the Boat

So…I scanned the blog today and realized there’s nothing new. There are no comments, no flashy prose, and no insightful (or blase) comments. The world wide web is echoing with silence. Afterall, there are millions of blogs and web pages and web sites in which to frolic. And I have not placed myself in the bosom of its environs before so why should it suddenly be jumping for me?!
We are in fact a prose group and that is so what I should be working on right now (or work stuff- ugh). I do plan on discussing prose, eventually. And, yes, regaling the world wide web with my turns of phrase…eventually.
But I feel like spicing up the night instead. I mean I am always shocking people so something I say should be able to get some kind of reaction from someone?! At least I could get myself reprimanded for more poetry than prose on a prose blog?!
So in honor of this summery night I do have a scintillating ditty. Maybe, eventually, if I put enough imagery out there (in one form or the other) I’ll inspire, or insight, someone…someone within this group or someone I’ll never meet in the unending depths of the web. And, yes, this is afterall, a vast web filled with pulsing lives (in written form). It is a modern philisophical Greece whose fates were woven by the hands of Arachne.
Have fun before the summer slips away like a three day weekend. Time never seems to get here, but then fades before you can properly kiss it good-bye…enjoy!
Sun Bathing
the sand,
pressing against my fingers,
its heat and hardness
a physical presence
that arcs beneath me;
the breeze,
cascading against my skin,
its breathy touch
caressing my hair
teasing my breasts
kissing my thighs;
the sun,
pulsating through me
penetrating every pore,
flushing my skin
a heated pink
causing sweat to run
in sensuous rivulets;
the water,
salty and suggestive
heaving against my legs,
it clasps me against its bosom
as I dunk slowly,
enveloping me
and igniting every nerve-
the relief it brings
a climax
